Re: FIFA World Cup 2010
again, refer to fifa keeping the game as simple as possible as widely as possible. the ref has a stopwatch and is keeping an eye across the time, besides the 4th official who is also supposed to be totting up time. he, in turn, gets the ref to add time on after the 45.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010
ESPN just put out a fantastic (yet gut wrenching film) called "The Two Escobars" as part of a series of films about sports. This one deals with Medellin cartel head Pablo Escobar and the ways the drug industry was tied into the Colombian football team. And yes, it also tells of how the death of Andres Escobar, the guy who scored the own goal when they played the US, was tied to the fate of Pablo himself. Fascinating yet horrifying film. If anyone can catch a torrent of it, you should watch it.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010
this is fucking ridiculous. FIFA should ban multi-camera angles and instant-replays from soccer broadcasting because all its doing is exposing their inability to get the important calls correct and drawing attention to their religion-esque secrecy to how they handle complaints.
fucking horrendous. USA should be leading the group right at this exact moment, instead they are 45min from going home. |
