The 2009/10 season starts here
well its time to start the 2009/2010 pre-season merry go round:

Barry to City - £'s or England future... weird choice...
Bruce to Sunderland - isn't he a Geordie?
Martinez to Wigan - not sure that's the best move he could have made?

lets get next season started here....

Looks like Ronaldo's finally going. £80m

How much money have Real got or are they just getting themselves up to the neck in debt? They're supposedly close to signing Villa too so looks like it'll be another team of Galacticos next year

...they're part government-funded, so they'll probably just up taxes!

ho hum, lets see who United stump up and buy with this £80m

it could part fund keeping Tevez i suppose... we need to shift Berba, unless he's gonna up his game...

Ron did us proud, and he's been great - at least he's gone abroad... the premiership will miss him though - in both good and bad ways...

excellent - we'd get a spare training ground, a squad of overpaid slackers, 1 broken Michael Owen, 52k more whining fans and Mary Poppins after all

still seems like a good idea, we could have a second team in the championship... rename them from NUFC to MUFC II, get Darren Ferguson to Manage them, call them United Jr.

lol

¿¿¿???

I guess this explains it a bit better:

Quote:
Real rich: Where Madrid's money comes from
* Clubs in Spain are free to negotiate separate deals rather than central contracts. Madrid signed a £700m seven-year deal with MediaPro in 2006, seeing them easily top £100m a year, double United's earnings.
* Their bids for top players are also aided by Spain's tax laws – foreign players pay tax at just 23 per cent for their first five years. In England the 50p tax means clubs have to pay more to match wages on offer in Spain.
* The club's status in Spain helps them maintain their place at the forefront of European football. All debts they hold are with local banks, rather than relying on American billionaires or Russian oil companies. These banks are pressured to allow Madrid certain unwritten privileges, such as low interest repayments on loans. Their stature and standing in the country means they are unaffected by issues that could affect smaller clubs.
* Real Madrid have finished top of the Deloitte Money League for four years. The Bernabeu enjoys the third-highest average attendance in Europe while overseas trips generate revenue through ticket and merchandise sales.

not sure your fans would welcome having to travel EVEN further to 'home' matches - you should've bought west ham

(oh; and you dropped the 'football club' a while back, soccerboys...)
