Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
The audience reminded me a LOT of the late 90's-early 00's shows (just a bit balder and a bit fatter). If you hadn't seen them before, I imagine it might have been a shocker given how lively the crowd was. Best show of theirs I have seen since the summer 2000 minitour.

Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
Yes, we did think that might be part of the explanation for the chatting and visits to the bar during the quieter songs. It was a surprise though. Someone said the queue for the bar was 20 mins long - and that was while dubno was still being played!

I don't mind nuxx, btw. I just thought this gig was one chance to finish with something from the dubno era instead!

RFH aftermath thread
Wow, no-one got anything to say about the Royal Festival Hall gig? I'll kick off by saying we had a ball, I was rather disappointed they didn't play Spikee, and...

...there's at least one recording in the can!

Cheers,

Dr. Matt...

Ah fair enough - I didn't see them live then. I just don't want them to think they *have* to play any song.

On the crowd noise thing - it's a double edged sword. The reaction during Dirty Epic was, well, epic, and the atmosphere overall was awesome. I just wish people who were claiming to love the album would shut up during Tongue!

I wrote about last night :

"It's like watching the music equivalent of Evel Knievel jump the grand canyon, in the Batmobile, whilst high fiving James Bond on a jetpack."

That setlist is incredible. I think I would've fell over to hear 'Big Mouth' & Minneapolis.' Can't wait to hopefully hear some recordings from some of these shows. Truly hope they come to the US next year.
