Re: Fatherland: a new play by Karl Hyde.
Mr Hyde was on Radio 5 on Monday this week talking mostly about Fatherland and also the Manchester Street Poem. He was on for nearly 30mins with Simon Stephens.

Lot's of chat about how the play was written/constructed including how his dad influenced much of the play. It was quite an interesting interview from a dirty point of view and he spoke a little bit about his family which I don't think we normally hear with his Underworld hat on. Also interesting to hear a bit more detail about how the music was composed (with non conventional instruments).

Also, they suggested at the end that the play should be coming to the Lyric (Hammersmith) next year - I might put off that 4hour drive to see the play!

Simon Stephens grew up in Stockport, and couldn’t wait to leave. Now he has built a verbatim show, with Underworld musician Karl Hyde and director Scott Graham, about returning home – and putting yourself in your father’s place

Also up in full on Napster (ne'e Rhapsody).

Seems like a rougher "Edgeland" vibe - Karl's singing is very raw and unprocessed, and the tunesor beats, as they are, are very organic/orchestra concrete/minimal. A few tracks have a nice, ambient pad melody.
