Mumbai attacks
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_india_shooting

The scariest thing is they didn't use anything fancy or expensive, and they damn near shut down the entire city.

Only yesterday I was thinking how strange it was that we don't see far more terrorist atrocities in our cities, given how easy it must be for someone determined to cause carnage and mayhem.

Wonder if Pakistan will have the finger pointed at it?

Bound to, really. There have been several atrocities in India laid at the door of Muslim extremists over recent years, and the bizarre thing is there are just as many in Pakistan too, which just goes to show that it is nothing to do with nationality and everything to do with politico-religious zealots trying to impose their will.

Re: Mumbai attacks
I just hope the Indian response ("whatever measures are necessary") isn't one that plays into the perpetrators' hands leading to even more loss of innocent lives. Pakistani leaders have already - swiftly - condemned the attacks. Let's hope they can convince the Indian authorities that they're as determined as anyone to destroy terrorist networks - and be seen to mean it.
