Or, rather, I'm thinking now that "11 Hundred Hz" just refers to the low bass note (at 1100 Hz?) at the end of I'm a Big Sister..., and the piano part was always taken from "Counterpoint Hang Pulse".

Actually, Mr. Smith may be refering to 1,100 Hz. (The frequency range in which these piano notes seem to reside and/or roll off.) The human voice is also somewhere in the ballpark of 1000Hz, and the piano rides in there too. Low bass would be like, 110Hz.
I freaked when I saw the name. "11 Hundred Hz? How cool is that?"

All these things are out there you just have to know how to grab them, and also have the login at the right places.

I got this last night but haven't had a chance to fully digest it.

Later after work I intend to.

What are people's thoughts on listening to a soundtrack before the film comes out?

Depending on the filmmaker I will hold out on a soundtrack until I've seen the film. Most Michael Mann films will not get a listen from me until I've seen the film. Same goes for Paul Thomas Anderson and Wes Anderson and Scorsese. There are probably some others I'm forgetting.

But the instance of underworld and this new Anthony Mineghella film presents a bit of a problem and I cannot resist new underworld music along with Mr. Yared's work.

Re: Breaking & Entering OST avaible for pre-order
After a few listens, I'm really enjoying the new soundtrack. This evening I spent an hour or so walking around Portland listening to the soundtrack straight through, then I sat for a while, had a drink, continued walking and listening.

I must say it is a bit more ambient than I was expecting, and the signatures of Mr. Smith and Mr. Hyde are evident to the listeners who know their work.

Re: Breaking & Entering OST avaible for pre-order
yeah.. normally i'd wait to bother with soundtracks/scores until i've caught the film. but this for me was a special case seeing as this has been such an intriguing offshoot for uw that i couldn't resist when i stumbled on it. if anything it's really piqued my interest in seeing the film, whereas prior to hearing this i was pretty blase about catching it. i'm actually very interested now in experiencing, if at the very least, the soundtrack in it's intended form.

crank - this isn't elitism. it's a discussion. about stuff that, if you'd dig hard enough around for on the net, you'd be listening too right now as well.

Think there's any relation of all these monkey tracks out there? Monkey Wink, Vanilla Monkey, Monkey One, Two... Correct me if I'm wrong, but monkeys aren't a major part of UW songs previous, are they?

wait for monkey nine!

Re: Elitism:
Certain memebers of the dirrrty form have for years gotten early releases of records. ( ThatS percon sholl remaint anonymousts) I have always wondered how. I just get "cranky" when I get jealous. I know it's not elitist I'm just jealous.

You just have to know where to look. What do you expect, a direct link?
