Underworld named as part of the remix crew for Orbitals 30th
Taken from a (closed) facebook site for The Prodigy my partner is part of . . . . Underworld are namechecked.

Will The Prodigy make a Remix for Orbital?

On Monday, December 3, the magazine "fact" published a video (

Orbital's Paul Hartnoll shows us how he keeps the classic sound of rave alive - youtube.com
Earlier this year rave pioneers Orbital - the British electronic duo made up of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll - returned with their first studio album in six years, Monsters Exist.

) from the Studio of Paul Hartnoll, one of the members of the legendary electronic band orbitali. He showed his Studio equipment and synthesizers for live performances of the band, as well as told about his immediate plans. Among other things, you can pay attention to an interesting detail: a white Board for notes — there you can see the following.

30 ORBITAL REMIX

— UTAH SAINTS
— BICEP
— APHEX TWIN
— CHEMICAL BROTHERS
— UNDERWORLD
— LEFTFIELD
— PRODIGY
— DAVID HOLMES
— VINCE CLARKE

Just in front of the group Bicep is checked, which suggests that at this point only they agreed to participate in the release on the thirtieth anniversary of the group Orbital, or just the Bicep track is ready for collection.

Paul Hartnoll: "Orbital will be 30 years old in 2019. I can't say anything specific yet, but we would like to release ‘Orbital 30’ — and mostly we want to bring our friends to do some remixes of our classic tracks. We also plan to re-record as far as the songs are concerned so that they sound closer to our live sound today — we improvise a lot on stage and the structure of the tracks changes a lot. For example, when we play ‘Halcyon’, we don't even realize how far its sound has gone from the original!»

According to Hartnoll, 2019 Orbital will devote more to the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary, and in 2020 the group plans a new album. It will be interesting!

I wonder, if Underworld participates, will they re-remix "Lush"? Their Lush 3-3 mix is pretty incredible, from the days when remixes were radically different, often better than the original, but incorporated a lot of the original DNA...not just a vocal sample or single loop, as seemed to be enough Vogue in latter years.

If UW does participate, will this be their first remix since 2015 (Manic Street Preachers "Williams song r37br11...which might actually be older given their other mix of same track)? Kind of amazing to consider how prolific or in demand they were for remixes in the 90's versua very few post Emerson departure...

Yeah, that previously unreleased Manics one was from the same time as the remix that actually got released. So their last real remix was the David Lynch one from 2011.

It's hard to tell how much is not being in demand vs. not being interested in doing them. Though I suspect it might be more of the latter. They've only done 3 remixes since 1997 (Oakenfold, Manics, and Lynch), and they've all been for personal friends or favors.
