Daedelus Denies the Day's Demise
So has anyone here checked this album out? It's so discordant at times it's phenomenal. It's like he smashes various musical styles that shouldn't work together--and sometimes don't, but makes it work otherwise, it's hard to explain--and you can't help but be mesmerized by it.

i spin this from time to time. I find it a lot more accessible and enjoyable than some of his previous releases. It seems more relaxed and confident. I guess the most remarkable thing about it is he's still able be innovative in the IDM scene. but its true, what you said, very hard to describe it.

All I have is Exquisit Corpse which is supposedly quite different. I quite like it but if you've ever seen him live then you'll agree that it's nothing on what he can do on stage. Daedelus is one of the best performances I've ever been to. His "magic box" can do wonders, you know (http://www.donewaiting.com/photos/ar...5daedelus3.jpg)

His Maida Vale session for Gilles Peterson is a close second, if you can get your hands on it.

Dadelus lives out in Los Angeles and plays at all the big techno parties, so I've seen him live quite a few times. He's one of the few IDM cats that I really like, even at his most 'out there' he doesn't forget to make the crowd bump. That little magic box of his is amazing.

Is he going to be playing at all this Christmas? I'm going to be in the San Francisco area and I am considering taking a trip to LA.
