Omega - UW inspired
Hey everyone. This is my first post here, but I've been a UW fan for quite a long time now. I have just completed a collection of tunes, a couple of which are quite obviously Underworld inspired (even though I had no idea about that when I was composing them) and I am hoping to get some opinions on them from people who aren't my friends or who just like cool music and not crap.

You can find all the tunes and info at:

http://www.homesavermagazine.com/tt/omega.html

The links there will take you to the download pages for each track. Sorry about the wait time for the downloads, it was the best free hosting I could find at the time.

UW fans will want to listen to "I'm Not Dead" and "Where Are You" in particular since those are the most UW-esque of the lot. Look forward to hearing from some of you.

Greets from Canada.

Re: Omega - UW inspired
hi, i listened to "I'm Not Dead / 1.269 And Rising" and i dig it I can definitely hear the UW influence in it but it still stands on it's own. The synth that comes in at around 7 mins reminds me more of something Orbital might do. I like how the track changes over time, introducing new elements to keep it interesting over 10 minutes.
The only thing that i can criticize is the production, which sounds a little muffled and lacking in punch overall.
I'll try and check out some more of your tracks soon. In the meantime, you can return the favour by listening to my tracks (you can download them at www.sputnikkproductions.com)

Hey thanks! I'm glad that you said that about the interestingness of it over the span of the song, because that's one of the things I struggle with. Sometimes I play it for people and they look at winamp and see that it's 10:10 and you can see then inwardly sigh, and start looking at their watch LOL

As for the production, I tend to agree. I'm not really a knob twiddler, although I would like to learn the tricks and tips to it. I am actually planning to take the work files up to my friend who runs a recording studio and see what he can do with it to punch it up, because there are a couple of tracks that could really use it.

Okay, on my way to sputnik productions

Listening to the first one now and it sounds good. I like the feel of the sounds, and they fit together nicely.. The transitions between the different parts of the track could do with some work though, particulary in the beginning of the song. The transitions works much better later in the song though, so it's mainly in the first build up.

No problem in getting the UW connection though, hehe.. Do you call yourself Omega or Pe-Machine? Would like to tag the tracks.

just looking at the tags, and realized there were screwed up LOL. The proper spelling of it is pe:machine with a colon. Omega is the name of the album.

not sure what you mean about the transitions. Do you mean when I introduce another element of the song, like a new instrument?

Thanks for listening

pemachine, have you considered getting an account on any of the following free music sites for music distro?

http://www.mixposure.com
http://www.purevolume.com
http://www.isound.com
and of course myspace.com -

and there's lots others - and you won't have to deal with badongo's bs. I look forward to hearing your tracks.

Re: Omega - UW inspired
ya sorry about that... after i realized the tagging was wrong, I retagged them and updated them on the server. They are all there now, at the same link. :P

I will check out those links tho, Badongo is cool, but I'm sure there is something cooler out there.
