Connect Festival
How clever do I feel for getting my ticket in the early bird sale for £85!? £125 now, and sold out. Treating this one as a T In The Park replacement which has a rotten lineup, it's pretty much NME In The Park now... Going to sell my ticket for a helfy profit First T I'll miss in years though...

Re: Connect Festival
I only just noticed this one. Bah. I think there are tickets though. I heard Jesus and Mary Chain were playing and Bjork would be good, never seen her.

Happy birthday Ally, by the way.

Re: Connect Festival
I'm still going to this, mainly as a big social thing but it'll be interesting to hear post-orbital hartnoll tunes live.

Still thinking about Pukkulpop as I'll be in the area at the time... Ally, I'm missing out on your usual festival roundup!

Yeah me too! All I got so far is a (presumably) drunken sms in the middle of the night Friday/Saturday saying he was at Glasto. No other details yet tho.

Well Rock Ness was good fun, the crowd are entertainment in themselves, you'd think they'd never been allowed out to play in their lives up there. Fairly average everywhere else though, but worth being there just to have seen Daft Punk.

T In The Park.. Well, I didn't go. I thought the lineup was absolutely rotten and Connect came on to my radar at half the price, I had a feeling it would be a good one so I switched sides. First T I've missed in about a decade, but it looks like I picked the right year to take a break, the Daily Record front page headline on Saturday was something like "Sea In The Park - Thousands Told To Turn Back Home Amid Five-Hour Queues As T In The Park Becomes A Washout" I was fucking howling I'd have been raging if I went but from my breakfast stool it was hilarious

Glastonbury was amazing as always. I went in a party of ten and only two of us had been before so it was a pleasure to watch them all discover what it was for themselves, because I know that people tell you about it and everything but that first time discovering it cannot be prepared for. There is something spiritual about the place, seriously..
Among the group on their first time was my girlfriend and my close mate Jamie. Of all my friends Jamie is probably the person who is most in tune with me musically etc and it was wonderful to see him go on a similar discovery to what I did. Sarah's a great girl, one of those ones who there aren't many of around any more - she takes really good care of me. I've not been more sure of many things than I was that she would love it and she did, I think that's her hooked for life. She's been going to festivals longer than me aswell - all wee English folk festivals and that.
Also spent a good bit of time with my good man Lukeyd - we all had rather an exciting Saturday night together.. my personal experience was proper fairies and goblins dancing in the dark stuff, amazing..

And none coming - I don't remember much about Friday night I'd been good and behaved myself Wednesday/Thursday/Friday; eaten well, explored with Sarah etc, then that night got a wee bit carried away after Squarepusher..

Re: Connect Festival
There, probably the best lineup this year anywhere.
