Re: Shoegaze
Leon:
Oordoppen verplicht! 13.11.09 | Effenaar - Eindhoven | tickets 14.11.09 | Patronaat - Haarlem | tickets 15.11.09 | EKKO - Utrecht | tickets

Re: Shoegaze
Thanks, will keep it in mind.
Anyway, did I already mention Working For A Nuclear Free City? Some of you probably know them already, but if you don't, there's every reason to do it immediately. Get Businessmen & Ghosts and you're set. Just discovered how amazing the second disc actually is. |

Re: Shoegaze
their 1993 release "Against Perfection" has some great tracks. i was surprised that no one made mention of them till your post.
a few others w/elements reminiscent of the sound: Kitchens of Distinction - "Death of Cool" is a great album in it's entirety and if you get a chance listen to a track called "Sand On Fire" from their "Cowboys & Aliens" release. on a more current side of things - I found Asobi Seksu's album "Hush" to be hitting the mark quite nicely. "Sing Tomorrow's Praise" and "Gliss" are my faves. an up and coming Los Angeles band Helen Stellar are highly influenced in this genre - they have a few ep's released and 1 release with them all on 1 disc - "A Prayer to Myself". they're currently working on a new release - you can listen to a few of their new tracks on facebook. there's one more newer group that has some cool shoegaze influenced stuff coming out, but the name escapes me... i'll post it later. i'm glad i found this post - there's all kinds of other shoegaze and influenced style bands i haven't heard of yet. thanks to my fellow shoegaze loving dirts!
