Re: Leftfield to play gig at Rockness (the Leftfield LIVE thread)
Some rumours say it's not a full reunion, as this LEFTFIELD is just Neil Barnes (again) and some friends, but no Paul Daley...
A little bit disappointing, if it's true!

Yeah, looks like the case...

From ResidentAdvisor:
Although initial reports that were circulating stated that the duo of Neil Barnes and Paul Daley were to reform for the series of summer shows, it has now been confirmed that the Leftfield dates throughout 2010 will feature Barnes playing on his own. Paul Daley has released a statement to inform fans that he is "about to embark on a solo career with the release of my first solo album. I also want to continue concentrating on my DJing work, so I've decided I won't be joining Neil on stage for the Leftfield dates this year." Barnes himself claims to be relishing the forthcoming performances, stating that, "The opportunity to take the band out again once more with the sound system and some of the original singers and perform the songs again to a whole new audience is an opportunity that I simply couldn't turn down."

I'll wait to see if they play near me, but I'll still buy tickets as soon as they are available just to hear those tracks played live again.

Re: Leftfield to play gig at Rockness (the Leftfield LIVE thread)
right... plus didn't Paul just play drums and not much else?

I never saw them live ... only watched the Montreux show once or twice, but it seemed that that's all he did

Not that playing the drums is "nothing" but I mean - it made about as much sense as if UW were to suddenly put a live drummer up on stage

what, live? nah. saw them in 2002 as a duo in bristol academy, absolutely rocked the house. the place was shaking. everyone was going bananas.
to be honest, saw them again in 2007(?) at rock city, notts, and they were good, but not as good. in my opinion.

They've just been added to the lineup at Benicassim - I was already thinking of checking Beni out this year as some friends are going, and this looks like it's going to seal the deal!
