Best Mamgu Ever
Big brother of Banstyle/Sappy's Curry imo. Such a gorgeous, lush piece. Got it on repeat at the moment. The crunchy, broken vocorded vocals, the superb bassline. Immense.
Dunno if there has already been a specific thread about this, (and don't care either, tbh. ) Loving this track.

Re: Best Mamgu Ever
Mamgu is definitely the most subtle album closer, i think. Like many of the tracks on OWB, it takes a few listens to semi-understand the lyrics and hear the different elements.
For me, i like "Moaner" the best as a final track, because it builds to such a fever pitch and then teases with the triangle and bubbling bassline on the fade-out. Works you into a sweat and then, a few moments to catch your breath and it out. "M.E." is next favorite...just like the fact that it sounds a lot happier, more conventional than the rest of dubno (probably becauser it predates the other tracks by a couple years). Something about that song...conjures up images of spring twilight, taking walks with my new UW album "Luetin" is very straightforward, probably my favorite set of lyrics for a closer. Dark, deep, and a nice counterpart to "mo move" "Stagger"'s the one i'm not too crazy about, actually. There's a lot going on, but it never all clicked for me. Usually i like these sorts of dark, melancholy sentimental, dare-i-say proggy tracks, but Stagger seems out of place alongside the other STITI tracks, more dated somehow. back to Mamgu...i'm really digging the chopped vocals during the first few minutes! And yeah, the two-chord alternation is almost exactly a slowed-down Banstyle.

I wonder...
where exactly - can one have the best mamgu ever ? and yea - it's a sweet track... it also kind of reminds me of that one longish mostly piano track from one of the Riverrun releases & was also used in that slideshow f/ when UW went to south america |
