Re: 2017-10-20 Underworld Rijksmuseum Amsterdam
I've not listened past the first two songs yet, but they can choose songs and improv those songs, no? The bits I've heard definitely FELT different than the last few years, more like 07-09. I guess we will see what they do going forward. Whatever the case, the reception for this set has been phenomenal amd whatever they did differently they should keep doing... differently.

Just because they have imrpovised a bit doesnt mean they never had a setlist. But they used to make the setlist every day and it would be similar but not identical.

Todd: I dont mind waiting but not too long!

Yeah well, I guess it wasn't improvised on the fly as far as which tracks they played and in what order. But at least it felt more improvised within the tracks, there was some mixing together from one track to the next (although mostly still just a fade in/fade out) and it wasn't just playing straight album versions of everything but actually some interesting re-interpretations (like Between Stars and Air Towel).

So is it back to the old glory days of full improv sets? Certainly not. And if I were Underworld I would mix and mash it up a lot more than they do still, but it sure did feel better and "more Underworld" than most of their sets from the past 10 years.

I've put up a REMASTERED and FIXED version of the show on the RTSR tracker.

I've patched or repaired all the 33 dropouts/glitches/volume drops.

It might get taken down if a better cleaner source turns up but it's also track marked already and includes some extra FADE tracks if you want to burn to CD.

To give you an idea. Here's my info file:

Underworld

Live @ Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam

20.10.2017

Facebook Live stream

01 - Red Earth (with Between Stars lyrics) new track
02 - GWCW (new track)
03 - Dark Train
04 - Pearls Girl
05 - Mmm...Skyscraper, I Love You
06 - Rez
07 - Downpipe (Dub) BIT/INTERLUDE
08 - Dark & Long
09 - Push Upstairs
10 - Two Months Off
11 - Good Morning (with Air Towel lyrics) new track
12 - Lenny Penne (Darren Price Drums Remix)
13 - Low Burn
14 - King Of Snake
15 - Jumbo
16 - Cowgirl
17 - Born Slippy . NUXX

We had three separate sources for this but only used two.
All three had the same dropout issues at all the same exact points.
Our main source was also missing the first 2.5 minutes

There were a lot of stream issues but mostly they were in the second half
of the set. I have fixed, repaired or patched all of the dropouts.
The only one we can't do anything about is the missing 3 mins from the
end of King Of Snake and the beginning of Jumbo as that was a feed transmission
loss.

A bloody great set with some new tracks and some nice new twists on old favs.

33 issues (dropouts/glitches/volume problems)

WORK DONE:

General remaster and boost

Red Earth (with Between Stars lyrics) -
02:19 cross to main source

GWCW (new track) (brief Bruce Lee lyrics) -

57:06 dropout patched

Two Months Off - no issues

[END OF DISC 1 IF BURNING TO CD]

01:46:41 - 01:46:45 several dropouts in a row could not use surroundings bars as nothing matched but a section of bars from the very end of the track did match so used those instead.

Here's some parts of the preshow:

I guess I don't quite understand what's happening. Rick is mixing bits over Tom's beats? You can hear Trim vocals at 0:30.

From the keynote address. A Karl summary of everything from EE through Barbara Barbara

https://www.facebook.com/narrationsm...5454325154101/

It'd be nice if a video of the whole thing would surface.

The full show's here. Not sure if it's been posted. My search came up empty

All the glitches and dropouts are there, too. YAY!

There it is then, "They wanted us to become a stadium techno band, but that sounded like cheese."

The jumpy chronology of his story makes things odd. He talks about the dark times while talking about the VW project (2013) and then goes on to mention Danny boyle calling about two projects in what would have been 2010 as the start of better times.

Very illuminating, regardless.
