Berlin 08-02-05
setlist:

Cowgirl/Rez
Beautiful Burnout
Glam Bucket
Everybody Jack
Crocodile
Juanita
Darc
Two Months Off
Cherry Pie
Banstyle
Confusion the Waitress
Aquafunk
Moaner
Nuxx as the encore

After experiencing the incredible superbness of the Hamburg gig one day earlier I thought it could not get any better. How wrong I was!

I was really happy that they changed their setlist so much from the Hamburg gig. There were just four songs that were played at both gigs (BB, Crocodile, TMO and of course Nuxx)!

Except for Moaner there was no song from the Beaucoup Fish era. Instead they played many songs from STITI which was a very nice surprise. Juanita was awesome and the crowd loved it. I almost burst into tears when the "resonator" loop popped up.
Darc fit in this atmosphere nicely. A great song which they should play more often! Have they actually played it more than two times yet?

After TMO and Cherry Pie, when I thought we were spoiled enough, they played an amazing Banstyle. Karl's guitar was great, his play was mixed/layered on top of itself and looped so that a nice wall of guitar-sound emerged.
Confusion the Waitress after that was also great. Both songs in succession were almost like listening to the album, just better!

As the closer they played Moaner this time, seamlessly mixed out of Aquafunk. The stroboscopic light effects were breathtaking and the crowd went nuts.

And just when I though: wow, they didn't play Nuxx, how cool, they played it as the encore. One guy tried to get over the fence just where I was standing, and another one who stagedived was escorted out by security.

So all in all this was another "liveset unlike any before" as Karl put it in his diary a few days ago.

What a shame that I didn't see any of you guys, maybe you saw me: I stood in the first row, wore a green UW shirt and could not dance at all.

Did Darc sound the same as the download on Uwlive or has it been tweaked since being played?

Re: Berlin 08-02-05
Of course the mixing was a bit different, but no new elements were added or removed.
Karl's guitar was different though and sounded more "improvised". And Rick did not sing I think.
Also there were no spoken word samples like "I've seen the animal..." or "...like a spider on my skin...".

It's a pity that the liveherenow guys didn't record this gig and the one in Hamburg...

Re: Berlin 08-02-05
as soon as I read this, my first thought was "liveherenow" but sadly, I don't think this gig was recorded by them. Oh well, I have 4 other shows form this tour that should be shipping out to me shortly.
