Chicago club The Warehouse up for landmark status

5mag just posted on their Instagram that The Warehouse is up for landmark status:

Preservation Chicago has included The Warehouse in this year’s list of most endangered buildings, and writes:
‘We need your help: please consider writing a letter of support and/or speaking in support of these important places next Thursday, April 13th at 12:45 pm.
All written testimony must be submitted to ccl@cityofchicago.org by 12:45 pm [Central time] on Wednesday, April 12th.’

I don’t work until later Thursday afternoon, so I may try to join the Zoom meeting. Thought I’d spread the word!

Really glad that Chicago is recognizing its house music history. Detroit has done well with Movement and promoting its role in techno; now it’s Chicago’s turn.
