2011-08-12 Sonicmania Festival - Tokyo, Japan
I went with a big group of fellow Japanese dirts/friends and everyone had a great time!

My first impression is that the show was pretty amazing! Karl's energy was high and the crowd went crazy! I particularly liked the set list. However, I found out today (looking through the forums) that it was the same exact same set as the one they played at the Main Square Festival in France last month. Nevertheless, I felt the song choices were good, the transitions were excellent, and they did a lot of improve with almost every song. KOS especially stood out. They kept bringing the base drum in/out (teasing the audience) and the buildup at the end was amazing!

Setlist :

Rez/Cowgirl
Pearl's Girl
Everybody Jack
Always Loved A Film
Push Upstairs (remix)
Between Stars
Spikee (shorter, but nice how they dropped it in)
Two Months Off
Scribble
Nu Train
King Of Snake
Born Slippy .NUXX

Overall, I would have to say that this was one of the better UW shows I've seen in Japan, second only to the Electraglide 2005 show!

Matt

Nice video from Zepp, Tokyo 10-10-08 on darktrain.jp. I haven´t seen that before.
The lyrics "the light coming out of your fingers" got a new meaning.
Not a trace of "throwing up on stage" due to the moistness I must say

The same setlist has been used for the majority of the performances.

But i agree with you, the whole show sounds much sleeker, and they are playing around more with effects - there is a new dimension to the performances at the moment.

Glad you enjoyed yourself Matt!

Thank you "phaseblue" but that doesn´t seem to be a user-friendly and easy thing:

To access the FTP site, I need an FTP Client
To access it, I need a Yahoo ID and a simple login like

Username :
Password :

Port:
Passive Mode :

For the RTSR I also need a BitTorrent client and I have to read the beginners guide to BitTorrent since I know nothing about it. Then I have to sign up to the tracker and need to create a new account there and then I will be asked for my borndirty / rtsr nicknames…etc. etc.

Honestly guys, is this a joke? I came here to listen to music.
All respect for your efforts but I just don´t have time for this even though I love U/W

andrea,

it's not that hard. there are plenty of people that will help you
out if you are having problems/questions/issues..

using a torrent client is very easy, just download one for your
operating system, get the torrent file from the site, and start it.
that's it.

signing up for the rstr tracker is a very simple process,
and doesn't take long either.

you would be missing out on a lot of recordings that you can't
find anywhere else...

yes, you could ask someone to make a copy or trade,
but that's more time consuming, and takes some expense
at times (mailing/shipping/blank material etc)..
