Contest! Need icon(s) for Web Application (A real one)

The music contest is a real one. Its not looking to have people make remixes so that they can avoid paying someone do to so, but rather have unnamed talents get exposed.

Design contests (and *maybe* not this one so much) are all about exploitation. Its about getting 20-30 comps to choose from rather than paying someone for their expertise and 2-3 comps. It happens all the time, and it belittles our industry.

Did I go overboard with your case? probably and I apologize, but my gut reaction to reading your post did make me react negatively. I see it often.

Some of these design contests even have the gaul to say that any submissions are property of the company running the contest.
