Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
So, there's definitely something new in Mother Earth.

Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
Listening to the remaster now. Sounds a lot clearer and more distinct effects with headphones on.

I doubt the time difference is worth the effort of seeing if there is really any changes.

will check on mother earth though, are you sure its an actual change?

they were sloppy with the file renaming, and it seems like rather a rush job on this download.
the embedded art is for the original album and not the remaster.

*update, just checked out mother earth, didn't notice anything new.
however all the songs have what sounds like new changes, but should
just be the result of the remastering making previous elements sound
clearer.

Wrapping up my first listen to the MP3 download (M.E. is playing right now) before bed.

Everything sounds cleaner and clearer, like someone cleared out my ears and everything between them. Cannot wait for discs 2-5 to show up!

Considering this has cost us all £50, money which they've had for over 3 months in a lot of cases by imploring us to pre-order to gain access to the pre-sale for the RFH gig, am I being unreasonable in my surprise and disappointment that MP3 downloads of just the first CD are available?

I pre-ordered the reissue / remaster of Mogwai's "Come On Die Young" album and ALL of the extra content was available as an MP3 download through Topspin on the release date.

Depends on the band. For this I wasn't surprised. It had stated that only the remastered album was to be available for immediate download on release day. I consider the MP3's an added bonus, since I'll be waiting at least another week before I get the physical copies in the mail.

Jason.

Has anyone received their vinyl or Blu-Ray orders of Dubnobasswithmyheadman yet? Very curious to see what their opinions of those releases are, and how the packaging looks.

Cheers, Jason

The last 30 seconds or so of Mother Earth, Karl's singing doesn't end at his last "Goodbye Mother Earth" line. Though likely the result of the remaster, his singing isn't audible after that line in the original, you can hear him breathe in but anything further was lost.

Yup, he's right. I noticed it on the first listen. It's at about 6:41 into the song. You can hear Karl singing without any vocoder effects, whereas on the original, there's no singing at all. I think it's probably a remaster mistake.
