Re: Fluke
Techno Rose is a bit pants. Six Wheels is a classic though (and all the singles from it - bubble, groovy feeling, electric guitar, slid)

Re: Fluke
Clicked through their hits on YouTube just yesterday. Didn't know of them during their active career, but today I like them a lot, especially the tracks Rachel Stewart is dancing to.

Re: Fluke
I really love the first 30-odd minutes of Puppy, it gets high rotation when I'm out running. Even its association with that embarassing rave scene from Matrix Reloaded doesn't spoil it for me.

Re: Fluke
Yes, big Fluke fan.

I agree with Stimpee, "Techno Rose of Blighty" is definitely dated, and i think it's much more synth-poppy than the rest of their catalog.

"Risotto" was the album that got me hooked, since "Atom Bomb" and "Absurd" were on countless commercials and compilations ~1997-98. Still enjoy the full LP.

Enjoy "Six Wheels.." for the singles, less so the album cuts. "Oto" is very dark, trip-hop, but has some interesting versions of tracks like "Setback" and "squirt" that appear on "Risotto".

"Puppy" was in near-constant rotation when it came out, and yeah, love the continuous mix of tracks 2 through 5.

As for side projects, 2Bit Pie and Syntax both rocked my socks. Syntax is working on a new record.

Lots more info and live sets here:

Re: Fluke
Found the Peel Sessions on vinyl recently. Fluke alternate between great and awful.

Re: Fluke
Fan of them as well. Though honestly I thought I had more of their stuff than Oto and Risotto. I'm probably thinking of Juno Reactor, went hunting for a ton of their stuff a while ago.

Re: Fluke
yeah, i liked them for awhile..
but there's only so many times you can rehash atom bomb
(their equivalent to born slippy)..

good stuff if you dig through it, a lot of hit and miss over
the last decade..

find their greatest hits cd or box.. lots of cool things there..

they're still kicking though.. not as much.. but they're still around.
