Re: Denver show moved!
i can't put the blame on rick, karl et al.. they aren't the ones doing the bookings.
that said though.... this is a serious disappointment to a LOT of people. and no price refund or any consideration whatsoever to those of us who bought much more expensive tickets? that's terrible. there's no inclement weather forecast for tuesday, and if the band was having trouble selling seats, the promoters/etc would have known that months ago. and it's not like this is a comparable venue - it's apples and oranges. waiting until 2 days before the gig to announce such a significant venue change is extremely poor form. - dc |

Re: Denver show moved!
Okay, so maybe I'm a little hasty getting mad at the band, but the disappointment in this news is pretty big.
If you're interested in sending out an executive e-mail carpet bomb, here's the list of every address I can find so far for livenation (who appear to be the promoters) and the even remotely possibly applicable addresses from the Friends of Underworld section of the underworldlive site: inquire@chaotica.com underworld@thesundayclub.com press@underworldlive.com jukes@easynet.co.uk sales@underworldlive.com johnvlautin@livenation.com BusinessIntegrity@LiveNation.com michaelrapino@livenation.com alanridgeway@livenation.com michaelgrowles@livenation.com thomasjohansson@livenation.com carlpernow@livenation.com bryanperez@livenation.com davidian@livenation.com leeanngliha@livenation.com You're much more likely to get results (either a discount on your ticket or an official apology, or some kind of renumeration) by sending a politely worded e-mail to these addresses, than you are by dealing with livenation's crummy RightNow customer service website. This list includes the e-mail addresses of all executive staff at LiveNation, CEOs and Presidents. Here's the Google Finance chat board for LYN, LiveNation's public trading ticker: http://finance.google.com/group/goog....703637/topics Here's the Yahoo Finance chat board for the same: http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/mb/LYV If you post intelligently on their financial boards about how they're not able to sell enough tickets to make their commitments to bands or fans, thus lowering their status in the eyes of both, you'll definitely hit them where it hurts. You'll probably also catch the attention of their Investor Relations people, who will definitely be watching those boards, and who will definitely be interested in making it right for you. Happy hunting. |

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
PS
Getting a "Real" Opening act/band WOULD help ticket sales. Yeah, Paul is fine ... blah yawn. I love the band, I still love the band, & always will but they do have a certain amount of say on such matters ... And this is a BIG one. A big let down for fans. |

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
5 minutes of online research reveal that LiveNation Denver just had all their top staff headhunted away by Regal Promotions group, and LiveNation is ending their relationship with Ticketmaster in 2008. If you want to post a message on their discussion board on Yahoo discussing these items in the context of their inability to maintain venue commitments in the Denver market, you'll hit them where it hurts the most.

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
I think a great way to drive sales for concert tickets is to schedule a performance at Red Rocks, and then switch the venue 3 days before the show to something less desirable. The classic bait-and-switch. What a shill...
I got my tickets in April, and was looking forward to Red Rocks all summer. I feel conned. If they weren't going to fill the venue and had to change, that is great, but tell us sooner. Give us time to get a refund, to reschedule. If I would have found this out last week, I'd send my tickets back for both Underworld and Chemical Brothers, get the refund, and buy the combo ticket. $50 for two concerts at the Fillmore is acceptable, but getting conned into spending $82 for tickets + $18.80 in fees is criminal. And yes, I sound much more professional when I contact non-fans than here. I think you fans can handle venting better than, say 9 news tiplines. Whoever posted to the Yahoo financial site did well too. Doubt the band is going to read this stuff... aren't they performing right now? They might read something tomorrow. I doubt there is anything they could do, other than rock the house especially hard on Tuesday. Or free t-shirts. Last edited by graphex; 09-08-2007 at 06:40 PM. |
