so I was just listening to "music bank live jam"
I completely forgot about it, until I happened on putting my iPod on random, and I realized how many sections from that bit of audio ended up being released

(it was broadcast on a dirty radio broadcast a while ago - not sure what year)

but it starts out with
• intro beat (that sounds like one of Pricey's, but I forget if / what track it'd be) then you have...
• a bit of "Dinner at Rod's" (just the piano, for a brief moment)
• "Cuddle Bunny vs the Celtic Villages" <- pretty much as it is on OWB
• the beats & some effects that are in "Bamboo" (you can especially hear it in the Birmingham recording)
• the "amnesia" sample f/ "Play Pig"
• a string section that sounds pretty close to "To Heal"
• a version of "Peggy Sussed" with different lyrics

just makes you think of all the stuff that R+K must have just sitting around in the studio

and it's funny how much of that ended up being released, or tweaked into something different, you know?

The "Peggy Sussed" lyrics are identical to the final release, btw.

But yeah, nice catch on the Bamboo thing. I just listened to it, and it certainly sounds like it's a precursor to Bamboo, or the beats section was borrowed for Bamboo.

Looks like you were right on the money, joethelion. They played the studio version of Bamboo today, and it has all the elements from the Music Bank Jam.

I had the jam track from 2004 which contains pieces of "Bamboo" labeled as "Lonely Bollock"

And do yours have a gap in the music before Bamboo comes in? Looking for a Music Bank Jam version without that gap.

Stupid question - is Music Bank Live Jam still available somewhere? It seems to be missing from my collection...

(Of course, if someone would be so kind as to PM a copy to me, that would also be appreciated...)
