Re: In The Belly of St. Paul
For those of you getting this, I'd be interested in knowing if it comes with a photo (one of the 500 Ltd. Edition), or if it says anything about being a reprint/second print (possibly reprinted just for Karl's art exhibit?).

Re: In The Belly of St. Paul
... and it's arrived! Luckily, I had no problems with UK customs (I think they worked out it was a book, which is zero-rated for VAT).
It's not one of the 500 as far as I can tell, which means there were more than just 500 made. It's in mint condition, but nothing identifies it as a second printing, it might just have been well stored for 7 years. I'm guessing it *might* be a reprint, as it came with a nice bonus of 2 A4 flyers for the 'what's going on in your head when you're dancing' exhibition, but no photo. Another possiblity is that the print run was a bit over 500, only 500 were sold back in 2003, and the rest of the run was stored for future sale when an art exhibition happened? If anyone at UW central is reading this and knows that there were only 500, and it should have had a photo, feel free to drop me a line :-) |

Re: In The Belly of St. Paul
from the tomato site:
In the Belly of St. Paul 'In the Belly of St. Paul' is the second collaborative book by Karl and John that is, 'in theory', part of a continuing project to typographically transliterate our experiences of cities/places that we know and love. 'In the Belly of St. Paul' collates Karl's nocturnal wanderings as snapshots of our London. It is also the first book to be published by Underworld Print (2003). The limited edition of 3000 has now run out. |

Re: In The Belly of St. Paul
A couple weeks ago - on the subject of books - I was in The Strand in New York and found a copy of Bareback. They had a second copy still there - about $18. Not sure how difficult this is to find - but I'd had some trouble - so I snapped it up (slightly scuffed cover and all).
Just thought I'd mention it (thought I'd already posted this here, but realized I hadn't - hence the delay between purchase and mention LOL). |
