the etymotics (both the er6i and er4r/p) aren't really "better".. just different. they're very detailed, but also dry overall, and somewhat harsh in the highs enough of the time to get on your nerves.

the shures are good middle of the road iems in all areas. they're warm, detailed, and "fun" to listen to. they done SHINE in any given respect though.

(at least i personally don't need the absolute best in a pair of headphones that i will likely ruin from missuse or loose or wahtever)

get a pair of sennheisers for at home or something

Just out of curiosity, how much did you pay? the RRP on these is $320! I think the street price could be about half that tho. Weight for weight they are more expensive than gold.

I paid less than that, too.

Another difference between the e2c and e4c (I had a pair of e3cs first) is physical size - the e2cs are quite large. They also don't come with the softer grey sleeves, or the triple flange sleeves.

i dont think a price like that is justifiable though for the increase in sound quality. Even if you paid as little as $167 (lowest price i found) its stil too much for me. I'll seriously look into the Creative ones tho.
