meshuggah - obzen (2008)
new meshuggah album comes out March 1st (US). i don't know if there's any metal fans here, meshuggah are sort of the metal equivalent of underworld to me, with continual developments in sound over time, evolving and perfecting their styles, all while keeping a sense of humour. not similar in sound to UW though.

monolithic riffs play with rythm structures, huge abrasive backgrounds, and a growl/scream that is unmatched.

Listening to it right now. I liked Catch 33, i kinda like this but I hate the vocals. Overall I like it though, i will probably catch them live with Ministry.

Re: meshuggah - obzen (2008)
sunday night is ministry and meshuggah out here in portland. it's going to be so heavy my head might just detonate. uber excited, supposedly it's ministry's last tour (about time, considering one of the founding members is sueing al jourgenson).

i also read that tomas haake, meshuggah's drummer, hurt his shoulder and needs some work done on it, but is still going to do the tour anyway. i really admire their work ethic!

Al isn't quitting because of Pauls beef...he wants to move to a more behind the scenes producer type styleee.
i cant blame him...hes paid his dues on the road.
and i cant bloody wait for the 2.5 hour onslaught of Ministry when Al comes to Toronto.

Re: meshuggah - obzen (2008)
do u have any idea what their setlist is like this tour? or any links that might. i don't know any details of the suit, but ministry have been around for about 28 years now, they are older than i am! them and KMFDM aren't much of what they used to be, not even as of 8 years ago. which is fine, but i call it lynyrd skynyrd syndrome when a band stays together and tours for years and years and eventually may not even be the same band members anymore, or will only have like say 1 original member.
