Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
goes beyond that how? I don't want to bicker, but people are rightfully pissed off & they're complainung about it.
Where are you flying in from? I agree, management, but promoters mostly, are more to blame than the band, HOWEVER. The buck does stop with them & their management. Oakenfold should have NEVER been the opener - for a venue that large or any other venue ... |

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
I know quite a bit about the band. I met them. They played at my club, & I know how things work. The reason for the change is obvious. Otherwise, they would have said why.
I'm not expressing disappointment, We're expressing outrage ofv the way this disaster was handled from beginning to end. ANYWAY I'm a bit tired though of all this now, at this hour, I think it's pointless. so I THINK i'm done here. I'm going to go listen to some Underworld ... What's done is done ... unless any of this helped them reconsider - miracles DO happen. |

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
Just got an e-mail from LiveNation Denver's head honcho. He basically says that LiveNation didn't sell enough tickets to fill Red Rocks, and they wanted a full venue. He spends some time establishing his street cred. He totally sidesteps the fact that my friends all paid big bucks and are making long journeys to come here, but offers an in-person apology.

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
He ( Mr. Pres of LN) should have predicted this,
sucked it up, taken the loss he created by not promoting well or adding a decent opener. Instead, we take the loss. Way to go Clear Channel (again) A despicable response. He makes it sound like we're getting a better deal. I feel for the band, though I'm sure they'll perform their hearts out for us & themselves as well ... I hope they never work with these "folks" again. |

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
Well, Red Rocks only filled a third of the way would've sucked a bunch of energy out of the show, especially if everyone scattered. It would've looked and felt kinda ridiculous. So to some degree, yes, I can understand this. I don't like it, but no amount of bitching and moaning is going to change this (unless of course they sell another 5,000 tickets by Monday).
I think I'm siding with dubman now. Yes, I'm pissed, but fuck, at least they're still putting on the show. It is still UNDERWORLD.

Re: Denver show now at the Fillmore Auditorium
Well, I'm still dissapointed in the change of venue, but I'm not going to let it ruin my trip. Ultimately it's about seeing Underworld live in concert, which is still happening. I'd be way pissed off if the show was cancelled for some reason. When the Red Rocks show was first announced I contacted a few Dirts in Colorado and decided that the Red Rocks show was the way to go. I bought tix's for the show, bought a plane ticket and booked a hotel.
So I'm out here in Denver and enjoying myself. Went out to the Garden of the Gods today, took some cool pics, did a little hiking. Still psyched for the show on Tuesday night, I'm sure UW is going to try and make up for all the headaches. At least the crowd is going to be full of 'dirts' having a good time. Luckily I'm still on for the Central Park & Boston show, but honestly, the Red Rocks show was the one I was most looking forward to. Hope to meet up with ya guys on Tuesday. Now I have to figure out where the hell the Fillmore is. see ya. |
