Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
sigh......
really? is the whole world taking crazy pills? REALLY? speaking as someone who LOVES Bad Boys 2 (but maybe for the wrong reasons), I think Bay really missed the mark with this one. I knew the in-between bits would be lame but was at least hoping for decent action and was severely let down. Pretty much the only part I liked was Bernie Mac in the beginning, but even that scene had to get lame at the end. Product placement toy commercial complaints aside, this is like a movie for 3 year olds marketed to 16 year olds and I really hope watching this movie doesn't make people dumber. I really hope there are some other people out there who were bored and borderline offended by how the movie treats its audience like I was. "uploading virus"

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
Tom...if you weren't already married...
SPOILERS . . . . . . . . . . . . The Transformers was fucking shit-hot. I was sporting wood throughout the whole film; because Megan Fox was leaning over Bumblebee's engine, because Optimus Prime shanked Bonecrusher, because Ironsides did all that diving and shooting shit, becuase alot of buildings and cars got busted up and blown to shit. Because Agent Smith was the voice of motherfucking Megatron!

You dodged a massive fucking bullet, man. The really huge Super Mario kind with the eyes on the side, where you had to run and duck into the little divot to avoid shrinking. You did that. You got into that divot, and you're still super sized, and you can break blocks with your face. Now get out there and step on some fucking turtles!! Last edited by Sarcasmo; 07-08-2007 at 10:00 AM. |

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
this was a huge waste of time. really reminded me of ninja turtles. big robot suits. hmpf. sap here. sap there. cheese here... god it was totally and completely aweful. and i like some DUMB stuff.
here's my question. if the cube killed megatron, why didn't they just point it at him in the first place? ugh. at least we had a great dinnner before hand. AND my ass fell asleep during the 2hrs and 23 minutes of cheddar.

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
My thoughts from my lj:
I certainly wasn't expecting Transformers to be anything deeper than Independence Day, but I was expecting more robots. Instead, it's mostly about a lowly high school kid being the savior of the world and trying to get into the pants of the hot girl at school (who just so happens to know everything about cars). It must've taken a good 45 minutes for Optimus Prime to show up, and the movie was winding down to its climax when Megatron finally reared his ugly head. Granted, if a Transformers movie is to take place on Earth, then humans need to be there. Logically, they have to be, and the U.S. military is going to get involved (but strangely, that's it--I'd figure more of a global operation if an alien invasion ever happened), but get that introduction out of the way and have the transforming robots from outer space take center stage. We do get a good amount of robot-smashing action, but it's about the transforming robots from outer space and not Joe Schmoe. Also, I found it...unsettling that one of the Autobots was talking like he was from the hood and, coincidentally, the only Autobot to die. And Optimus Prime has lips. Optimus Prime does not have lips.

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
just saw this this morning.
the movie was a good popcorn flick. and for those that say "if you loved 300 you'll love this" well, i loved 300 and only found Transformers as okay. and for all the hype i heard about the action at the end, it was rather dissapointing for me. i only like the part where Prime shanks that one decepticon in the neck, that was badass. and Starscream switching from robot to plane form constantly while fighting was possibly the closest thing that reminded me about what i enjoyed with the original cartoons. but the rest of the big finale seemed blah to me. (i'm one of those people who loved all the action of the second Matrix, but didnt see what the big deal was about the action in the original Matrix). the pacing for the most part was really good all the way up to about when bumblebee gets captured, then after that everything seems rushed for some strange reason. like they slowly introduced the autobots and you get a feel for their characters a bit, then suddenly there are all these decepticons names thrown around in a few seconds in their nonrobot forms and then the action just starts....and the little boombox decepticon seemed to have gotten the most screen time of ALL the decepticons (and i assume this isnt even Soundwave). just my 2 cent review |

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
From Vern vs. Transformers:
"Imagine you took apart a whole bunch of cars, mixed the parts up and welded them all together into a giant ball maybe 15 or 20 feet in diameter, then rolled it down a hill. Shoot that in closeup and you got every fight scene in this movie." "What Michael Bay has already done to action editing and staging he has now done to character design...If you're gonna make us wait two hours for a big dumb robot fight at least make robots that we can tell apart or can distinguish what they are doing or which part of their body is the head. In a Godzilla movie I can tell which one is Godzilla and which one is Mothra without studying it frame by frame and comparing it to charts and diagrams." "They were already onto the next scene by the time my brain processed the fact that I had just seen a Mountain Dew machine transform into a bad guy robot. Hopefully he will be the main villain in the sequel. But he'll be defeated by a good guy Nike truck." "You can't realistically expect a movie as good as ALIENS every time, but that's better than resigning to the idea that "summer movie" equals "horribly made infantile disposable pap" and being excited about it anyway. If a summer movie is meant to be like TRANSFORMERS, then why the fuck aren't you people embarrassed to be going to see summer movies? At least have the decency to admit that it's a strange, possibly deviant hobby."

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
Q Did you find yourself walking the line between creating your own vision for this movie while also trying to satisfy the ardent Transformers fan base?
A Listen, I make my own movies. I don’t need anyone else telling me what to do. I wasn’t a Transformers fan before I signed on to do this movie, but I actually went to Hasbro and met with the CEO and went through the whole Transformer school, about how to fold and unfold all the robots. I figured, what the f**k [laughs]. I’ve been offered a lot of superhero movies before, but nothing really appealed to me. If I was going to make this movie, I wanted to make it real, something that could be new and different. I’ve quickly become one of the biggest authorities in the world about these toys, but I tried to make this movie for non-Transformers fans.
