Re: always loved a film on pete tong
Was just going to post the same thing, wasn't a huge fan of the song after hearing it on Tongs show, however it sounded brilliant on a big soundsystem when Sasha dropped it.

Echoing hopes that the Silver Boots/2006 broadcast version will be on disc two of Barking. As much as I enjoy the final mix, the 2006 mix is dead-drop gorgeous.

Re: Always Loved a Film on pete tong
Dare I say it was worth the wait?
The only thing I wish is that it kept the old bassline - maybe I just couldn't tell on the Tong version on an ok system, but as I recall the 'defining' feature of ALAF was always the funky, kind of shifting bassline; listen to the Brixton live version (which I absolutely loved) from last year (?) - now it kind of just has a more generic and steady bass there. Besides that all the new elements are ace. The guitar break took me totally by surprise and in the end I really, really hope Barking has a lot of stuff like that. Also really hoping the "Silver Boots" mix is on the second disc! Bring it on!!!! |

this was posted in twitter:
'Huwy's Hottest (aka Hottest Record in the World) tonight on Radio 1 at 7.30 is the new single!' is ALAF? or this 'grace' track everyone is talking about?
