fwiw, Ian, if the bbc had intentionally constructed the question, I personally would view it as something more ethically positive than negative. Its good to know the scope of the problem you're facing. And this certainly has been an eye opener for a lot of people.

Tbh I suspect most people will come away with little more than a vague recollection of (a) yet more brutality occurring in the heart of darkness, and (b) yet another controversy with which to hurl words like 'fiasco' and 'shambles' at the BBC, as part of the campaign to destroy it.

Btw I learned something too. The UK govt handed the Ugandan govt £75 million last year. Suddenly my mild resentment at having to pay the TV licence fee is replaced by a little perspective.
