the most fucked up thing, for me, about the church is exactly the thing you're going through right now, its violence towards family relationships when it is sold as a religion to bolster family bonds. Its what made me the most bitter about my whole experience. sadly can't give you much advice on the family thing, my family situation being the shitty role model it is.

speaking of which, caprice, you should know if you haven't figured it out already, that lying about the conversion count by missionaries isn't the exception, its the norm. Most missionaries in the field have lied about their quota counts just out of pressure from the mission being focused on numbers.
So the fact that you decided to fold and not lie, puts you above most of the return missionaries I know. And I know a lot.
