i havent seen it but i did see HBO's First Look at the movie. it will make you want to kill michael bay.

paraphrasing some of what Bay said:
They showed me this picture of this truck that's been lowered WITH FLAMES ON IT....and immediately i thought that's DEFINITELY Optimus Prime..........

It's really totally mediocre. Like, the script isn't great, the robot models aren't great, the action execution isn't great. None of it is as bad as it could have been, honestly, but none of it is good enough for me to muster any enthusiasm. The action scenes are chaotic and the robot models are too busy. The pacing is all hectic madness which always irks me that these supposed a-list directors don't understand the importance of build-ups.

And unfortunately, the comment about a robotic sphincter ready to shit all over our childhood comes way too close to the mark.

Seriously, I know the second one's plot was nonsensical. But the third one?! Awesome.

No, that's not what I mean. When I say the script isn't great, I mean it's actually not that bad considering the source material. There are some lame moments, but they really didn't do a horrible job. I mean all the people I saw it with agreed that the models had so many parts that it was kind of harder to discern what was happening with their bodies, especially the monochromatic ones like Megatron. Kind of like Mario and his overalls was about making his arms really visible? I don't know if that comparison is clear...
