Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)
First off:
Woo! "Versions" of every track! Which probably means studio versions of YDS and all the live precedents of album tracks!

Secondly:
I think there's two versions of song that will be singles: one to be used in the "film" and one for airplay. Which bodes well for the likelihood of a "Between Stars" single - not that Underworld have been stingy with the single releases from the very beginning.

Thailand did release AHDO on cassette, but that seems to be the last Underworld album on tape.

According to Pitchfork's new site, yes: http://alteredzones.com/

(all seems a bit gimmicky/pretentious to me...as if making the music available on an archaic format that few can play makes it better somehow. )

Yeah, im finding this more and more - its almost as if DVDs are becoming the norm... you might find that the CD only will be more collectable in years to come

so the new album IS on cassette or you're just saying 'yes they still make cassettes'. the reason i like cassettes is that it's the only analogue format you can play in your car with any practicality. plus i like having a side one and side two. it gives the album a sense of having two distinct parts, to me.
