Do you live in pro-America real America, you real America, pro-America American?

From Countdown with Keith Olbermann. The Daily Show had a great couple of segments on this Monday, but the videos weren't up yet on their site.

So, I'm confused. I live in a city of over 100,000, but I live in Montana. Am I a real America, pro-America American, or am I a commie un-American?

Voting McCain? NO?!

I'm just thankful the word un-British hasn't gained any traction in this country like the words un-American and un-Australian have.

Though I won't be surprised to see it happen here eventually.

I recall a decade ago thinking how glad I was that the word 'liberal' wasn't a dirty word in Britain like it apparently seemed to be in the States.

And now look what's happened...

Quotes for those who don't want to wait for the video.

Sarah Palin: "We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working, very patriotic, very pro-America areas of this great nation."

Michelle Bachmann (R-MN): "I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America. I think people would love to see an expose like that."

Nancy Pfotenhauer: "I can tell you that the Democrats have just come in from the District of Columbia and moved into Northern Virginia... but the rest of the state, 'real Virginia,' if you will, I think will be very responsive to Senator McCain's message."

And now Rep. Robin Hayes (R-NC), perhaps the most direct and egregious statement: "Liberals hate real Americans that work and acheive and believe in God."

Well, I hope to have exit strategy when they start Rounding Up all of the "Liberal Anti Americans" and put them on trains to go to 'God's Camp'.

Wait, maybe that's jumping too far ahead.

If McCain wins, the first law he will pass will be to remove all Left Turn Signals from vechicles.
That will be the sign that starts the purge of them evil Anti American Thinking types.

Now McCain has gotten into the game (though this is a bit tame compared to the rest). He called Western Pennsylvania "the most patriotic, most God-loving, most patriotic part of America."

i don't have any problem with this quote. for those of you that haven't been to virginia, washington, D.C. and its suburbs are nothing like the rest of virginia. the suburbs of washington are what Ms. Pfotenhauer are referring to, and the suburban sprawl and population growth are massive in this area. perhaps a proper way to phrase this would've been 'virginia proper' or 'outside the beltway', etc. as much as i disagree with this statement in that there are plenty of working class people in eastern and southern virginia who will vote for obama, i don't see this quote attacking northern virginia as 'un-american'. this is a quote taken out of context.

I agree and disagree. Sure, there's a lot of urban sprawl around the D.C. area, and I would hope that's all she meant by it. Normally, I would probably give her the benefit of the doubt (and later in the interview, she was offered the chance to back away from that and didn't do a good job of it), but considering what Palin and Robin Hayes (at a McCain rally) said, I can't rule anything out since they're all speaking on McCain's behalf.
