Re: Wotw...
I thought it was pretty good but it was basically full of unlikeable, forgettable characters. At any point the Aliens could have vaporized the whole cast and the film would have rumbled right along.
If you haven't seen Batman Begins yet see that instead - it's much better as far as summer blockbusters are concerned. |

Re: Wotw...
Apparently I either don't remember how to do the spoiler thing, or it doesn't work anymore. Either way, if you haven't seen it, I guess you shouldn't read this.
SPOILERS AHOY! I didn't care for this too much. One, I can't stand whiny characters and this movie is all whiny characters. Two, [spoilers] I thought the whole thing with him having to kill Tim Robbins was lame. It didn't seem justified, to me, but they acted like it was wholly justified. The guy took you in. If you think he's crazy, freakin' leave. Or you know, kill him. Whatever. That scene bugged me. I know the arguments against what I'm saying, I mean, I understand why it might have been practically impossible for them to leave, I'm just trying to say that whole sequence didn't work for me, and it bugged me. [/spoilers] Three, [spoilers] the scene with the tentacle searching for them, and then the aliens searching for them, were too similar, especially since they were right after one another. [/spoilers] I also wanted to shout out, "Give him some Reese's Pieces!" OH! And also: [spoilers] I thought that ending was fucking lame. And....they're dead now! Because, apparently, they're fucking stupid! [/spoilers] Scott's right, Batman is better. Land of the Dead is better. Crash is far, far better.

Re: Wotw...
I thought it was a great film until the end which was totally rushed and didn't make much sense. Tom Cruise was good although not at his best, the little girl was amazing considering her age. Some really ugly scenes and dark moments along with some surprising comedy which got quite a few laughs from the audience. I liked how it got straight into the action too.
8/10

Re: Wotw...
Was very impressed with Batman. Seen the trailers to WotW and heard personal opinions of those who have seen it and it seems to rate about 6/10, whereas Batman is about a 9/10 and "best one yet" seems to pop up a lot.
