Re: Heads up on the Dirty Compilation
Another thing that I'm actually thinking of now...

Like last time, we should have some artist info (small bio) for every artist, and a description of your track or something like that. Plus, a picture of yourself or some kind of artworky would be nice too.
So, when you've got something written down, email it to me at leonotsen @ g mail . com (without all the spaces of course)

Don't think I'll make it this round, sorry. I have shitloads to do at school and no time to play around at the time. Wish i had though, but good luck. Looking forward to checking out what you come up with!

Ok man, I wish you luck with your schoolwork.

We now have:
Carp Dreamer
Professor
Future Proof
Holden
King Of Snake
Leon
Emmet (?)

And from my earlier topic about this, there were two who also wanted to join in:
Cadevil
Renze

Personally I think we could best do mp3 files of 192 kbps, as it's descent quality, and for slow internetters, it won't take as long to download the file than if it was a higher bitrate.

I don't wanna do limmitations of the length of the songs. I want you to have full freedom in the creation of your tune. If someone would want to burn the compilation on cd, they'll have to use 2 cd's if neccesary

Re: Heads up on the Dirty Compilation
well, i should interject here: if i am to host these files, i think that a time limit is appropriate. I'm thinking 8-10 tracks, of VERY HIGH quality. Quality is better than quantity. If we get 5 outstanding tracks, then it's a nice little dirty ep...no harm done. each track should be no more than 8 minutes. 8 minutes is plenty long enough for "album listening" --you noodling on your new synth for 25 minutes won't work on this thing....imho. plus, i just don't have the space for several epics at once.

so leon....thoughts on that? i'm thinking that i can put the files up on my website, with a little blurb about the dirty community...

So you're saying that you can't host too much, because of space limitations? Ok, then we'll have to agree with a time limit.

We can asume now that we have 9 artists joining, and since this is a reminder-topic, that we could let 1 still join in if he wants, and have a 10 people maximum on this comp, how long can we make the tracks then?
Also looking at the bibrate of the mp3's, which is still 192 kbps?

Sounds fair. i'll keep mine under 8 minutes. And so, if there are ten of us, and all the tracks are in the 8 minute range or less, the compilation can fit on one CD. me likes!

That said, you're all sure to have quality stuff (and i know from listening to the shared work and the previous compilations from dirtyfolks that you do!), so if my shoddy track isn't up to par, i'll donate minutes to those that need more space

That's cool, as long as the whole comp will be shown nicely on one webpage and stuff
And to me the 8 minutes limit sounds ok, unless someone really has plans for a longer track.

Btw, I guess the one who's offering webspace, should also kind of make a worthwhile page to download the tracks off, and also has to take the time to place the bio's and pictures and stuff. Ok?

Ok, my track is not going to have lyrics I tried and tried but it will tear the whole vibe of the song appart. Just thought I'd mention

My track is trancey too. But not like the "musicstyle" trance, but it just gets you into trance if you know what I mean.
