Re: A Hundred Days Off Survivor Round 3
no way sola sistim can go. 'tis my favorite. the reason I like this song so much is I remember I was having a horrible day at work once... just horrible - and when I thought I was going to go nuts sola sistim came on the net radio stream i was listening to and it just made everything better.

I've owned the album since the day it came out, I've listened to it many times, and I like it well enough. But aside from the few obvious tracks, I cannot associate the names with the songs. If you asked me to tell you how 'Trim' goes versus 'Little Speaker', I would give you nothing. I really only know 'Mo Move', 'Two Months Off', and 'Dinosaur' by name. The rest are all nameless.
i'm kind of in the same boat - i've owned this sine the day it came out and i can honestly say i haven't listened to it since the first month (apart from luetin)

Honestly... What's so great about Luetin? Don't get me wrong, it's a good song. But several of you guys keep bringing it up...

i love Luetin. cant explain why either. i *really* love Luetin as performed in Maida Vale on the John Peel show. THAT was amazing.

Re: A Hundred Days Off Survivor Round 3
To be honest, though it's not many people's favorite UW album around here, nor is it mine, AHDO was the first new record released once i got into Underworld around 2001. So, i was eagerly awaiting it, and i did love it on first listen. As soon as the beat dropped in on "MoMove" i thought, "dang, the boys are back!"

But in the context of the whole catalog, there are a number of weaker tracks on AHDO. "Luetin" is special by this album's standards, but the similarities to AirTowel (discussed before around here) makes it less than original-sounding. Heck, the basslines of DA3D and MoMove are just a few notes changed from King of Snake. Good tracks, but sort of what we expected from UW. The RiverRun project, on the other hand, is something entirely new and different, as Karl and Rick said they were intending.

Well, that and the main keyboard hook of "Dinosaur Adventure 3D" is an exact copy of the one in "Dark Train."
