Apologies for adding the "both shite" option. That was a drunken me . However, I can assure you I did not change the votes. People have voted for "both shite"!

i wonder how many have actually heard "Selling England By the Pound". If you voted shite because you hate Phil Collins, check yer rock history...Genesis was a very different band in 1973. And even if Bono gets yer goat, i don't think i've ever heard "Joshua Tree" described as poopy, even by nonfans.

I know my rock history and ive never been a fan of Genesis in any shape or form, or of any of the solo stuff or derivative groups including Peter Gabriel. Never liked stuff like Nursery Crime (possibly one of the worst album covers ever) or Lamb Lies Down on Broadway either. As for U2, their 1980s output is pompous rubbish. For a few albums from Achtung Baby onwards they started to make better music, much more dance oriented and thats the period I prefer.

Bryantm3, while i'm right with you on the prog-era Genesis love, i fear it's a lost cause around here. U2, or at least Bono, also take their share of lumps.

Now, if either collaborated with UW, we'd have ourselves a debate! Though, both U2 and Genesis have worked with Brian Eno, so the connection's not that distant
