Re: push downstairs
to me, it's like bringing the album full circle. i know only some of you are prog heads, but to me that's very important. for example, take the track 'dancing with the moonlit knight' by genesis:

and the last track on the album, 'aisle of plenty'.

the second song 'aisle of plenty' isn't really significant on its own, but without it the album would be incomplete. the same goes for push downstairs. to me, beaucoup fish sort of tells a story in music, with recurring themes and lyrics. i don't know what the story is about, but it feels like a musical journey, versus second toughest in the infants which really feels more like a collection of songs to me. all i know is that cups-push upstairs is dawn, kittens is the end of the sunset, and push downstairs is twilight. something like a mama and moaner are nighttime.

Appealing depiction of the Lotsa Fish Journey, Bryant.

Strangely, up to now, I hadn't seen BF this way, but always thought similarly of STITI, esp. with Juanita/Kiteless To Dream Of Love - Banstyle/Sappys Curry - Confusion The Waitress so smoothly flowing into one another. Air Towel - Blueski - Stagger are the perfect conclusion after the heavier Rowla and Pearls Girl.

Interesting to see how perceptions differ even among fanboys.

no more fucking genesis. there is no comparison. this is about push downstairs. not phil collins. dont drag it down any further.

push downstairs is just a downtempo version of push upstairs. simple as that. please help me is a cool song though. maybe on that box set we keep hinting at eh?

Re: push downstairs
wait - extra verse on "Push Upstairs"?

I don't remember that... is it only on "live versions" of the track - or is it on the "Full Length of It" mix?

and ... if any track is going to be taken off BF - it should be "Something Like a Mama"
even when they play it live - it basically sounds nothing like the album version (b/c it's crap)

?
sorry i had to read that one again, had me rolling pretty good. i think i see something now i dont see before. we may all be underworld fans, but we all clearly don't listen to them the same (i think, i've never interacted with a real underworld fan before so i can't say), but i cant think of another band that does that. maybe radiohead, but some of their songs are loved by the masses whether they really like them or not, because they haven't got the character to say otherwise. underworld fans on the other hand call that shit out!

random underworld fan: "hey rick and karl nice job on always loved a film!"

underworld: "oh yeah, thanks, yeah its one of our favorites!"

random underworld fan: "yea, well, i think its a piece of shit, i was just saying good job making it though..."

lol

Personally, I love Something Like A Mama.
Also, yeah, the extra verse can be heard in Push Downstairs and the full length version of Push Upstairs you can find on 1992-2002. It's rather similar to the opening lyrics of Moaner.

Re: push downstairs
Sorry Bryan. Touched a raw nerve. Anything Phil Collins related usually does it. Merry Christmas.
