Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)
This is the shortest UW album title ever.
(now, over-interpret away). Anyway, let's wait until we heard it. If UW feel like doing a dancefloor album with the help of other artist, fine. They don't need to prove anything, anymore. And they are still open to new ways of making their music. And also, remember how they once elaborated about other people carrying on "Underworld". Last edited by DaddyAdv; 06-09-2010 at 06:20 AM. |

Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)
Great news!
Also, after seeing "Moon In Water" on the tracklisting, I looked it up on my recording of the December radio show (which I listened to in its entirety when it aired live - ooh, I'm finally a part of Underworld history!) and I can really see how great a job High Contrast could do with this track if he gets it right. The entire song almost sounds like a lull before a drum'n'bass explosion. Also also, there's a track from that radio show entitled "Barking". In case you don't feel like looking it up, I doubt it'll be on the album. It's pretty experimental, starting off with a spoken word and then just making some eerie whooshing noises. Plus it's only about a minute long. Also also also, glad to see some of my wish-list tracks on there! I'm pretty safe in my knowledge that Mark & D. will treat ALAF and Between Stars with the greatest of care, and eager to hear (unlike some of you) what PvD+UW sounds like. Considering how poppy Diamond Jigsaw is, I think they picked the right track for him!

They should open a show with this song.

Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)
It just occured to me that I'm not as excited as I want to be over this album. It happened while listening to You Do Scribble during a late-night work session. That track has all the signature UW that I think in time, I'll miss when listening to Scribble. Scribble is a good track, but its hard to not hear how polished it is.
Obviously I haven't heard the album yet, but that doesn't change that I'm not as excited for this as I thought I would be. I wanna be really excited! Oh, and the fact that PvD, while technically proficient, is total cheese doesn't help me one bit. Reading that the tracks were sent to these producers makes me think that they'll just stick their sounds into the track because well, they want to. |

Whose got the 5 minutes rough cut of Moon In Water? This will be interesting in terms of development, no idea what stage this was in when it was broadcast.
