ha, nice! we've actually been playing the "breaking and entering" soundtrack for the last several months... it's the most consistently chill UW material (the wife says it reminds her of mizaki) i found suitable our unborn daughter. though, NUXX could epic when she decides to pop out.

Hey Chris, I know the feeling. My son was due the night UW played at Hollywood Bowl in Sept. '97. Our friends were all over my house painting the baby's room on the afternoon of the show. My wife didn't feel like it was going to happen so she gave me one look and I was on the road from San Diego to the Hollywood Bowl with my buddy. Walked in the doors as Oakenfold was finishing the opening set. By far the best concert of my life. My son was born 24 hours later. Best day of my life. UW is burned into me now. :-)

Conrats to you Chris and your lady for the upcoming arrival (hope she'll grow up to be a UW fan).

I too saw the Mayan show (weird how there's so many of us on this thread with that shared experience!). That was sort of my first show too...I saw them once before that, but it was the Mk1 era. I miss the Mayan. They don't seem to have as many shows anymore, but I guess they're doing better as a latino nightclub.

The 4th and B site is now listing the gig as "SCREAMS & DREAMS HALLOWEEN BALL FEAT. UNDERWORLD"

I'm thinking either of these for a pre-gig meetup?

What are we doing...where will my Dirts be at? Might I recommend Hamilton's Tavern? Great beers...good people... we'll go well before the show. Who's down?

Hamilton's looks good, but is a short drive from the venue. That's cool w/me, unless people would prefer a place within walking distance?

BTW, is this a costume party? It's called the Halloween Ball. And a friend of mine said they heard that the event is going on until 4am. Are there DJ's going on after the UW set? Just sounds a bit strange. Not sure I want to dance my face off with a costume on.
