Here is a man who speaks very wise words. I have never been treated so well by any band. We are very lucky.

da best. : and the mistery about some unreleased tracks is good. We are lucky to be treated like we are treated.

We are spoiled fans. Rick and Karl are too good.

What band does live broadcasts now and then and updates their website DAILY?

I think Underworld are the only one up there.

THE best band in the world.

Actually I kind of doubt this will happen, I think those tracks are great enough to see the light of day on the next studio album But I would definetely support it, I've got bootleg quality versions of "Scribble", "ALAF", and "Darc" topping my UW 'most played' list....

Pretty much. I certainly wouldn't complain if they were available for purchase, but these tracks, along with others like You Do Scribble and Bamboo, have more "oomph" and interest in them because they're unavailable and the boys surprise you whenever they play them. I'd have them on repeat far too much and it would ruin the awe that they have as unreleased material.

Just my $.02

Re: Sincere thanks to UW: we'll pay for it!
OK, I've got a few comments and an idea.

To answer some of Underworld's questions during the broadcast:

1. I don't think the Dirties want everything for free. I would pay a few bucks for high quality downloads of unreleased tracks.

2. Book of Jam. I think some of us would pay for that too, thought not as many as for the music, I'm sure. I bought Skyscraper and Belly though, and I was looking forward to Book of Jam. Sounds like it's going to be a PDF release now, but I will buy the print version if that ever comes out.

3. Broadcasts? Yes, we like them! Keep them coming. I've gotten up at 3 AM for the last 2 broadcasts.

Now for my idea. I was musing about the comments during the broadcast about releasing music and paying for it and such, and thinking about the wealth of unreleased material there is (200+ songs from the past 4 years), and came up with this.

How about a Song of the Month club? There are a lot of ways to go about it, but the basic gist is to release one unreleased track per month. Maybe you could do it on like a subscription model. For example, members sign up for a subscription, and get charged something like £2 per month and each month they get a FLAC download of an unreleased track. And maybe the tracks are only available that month, or maybe they go into a Store archive where people can then go purchase them later. Maybe do an annual subscription option too for £20.

Another possible twist is to release the song for free at 128 Kbps MP3 in the Members section, but then make the FLAC's available only to the £2 subscribers.

Anyway, just some brainstorming I had about how to get some of those unreleased songs out there. I really want to hear some of the songs. My co-worker mentioned that Underworld songs are really great to listen to while riding the Shinkansen, and it made me wish that I could listen to "Bullet Train to Kyoto" while I'm riding from Tokyo to Kyoto next week. I guess I'll have to settle for listening to JAL to Tokyo on the flight over (which is on JAL ).

uh, that's just weird... having it released ruins the experience for you? Sorry but I don't see how that should make any difference and how anyone could advance this as an argument not to release something.

yes great, but you're preaching to the choir here. I don't really buy the "we should all be so thankful and we're all so spoiled that it's unfair to ask for anything different/more" argument. Of course we should all be very happy with what UW are giving us, but at the same time we are their customers, we are the ones buying their music, so can we then not voice our opinion on what we would love to be able to buy? The boys have stated on multiple occasions that they like to have feedback from the fans, that's the whole point of uwlive. They have also stated that there will be more downloadable tracks on uwlive following the release of OWB. We just don't know which tracks they will be (although I think You Do Scribble was mentioned). In the end they can do whatever they want of course but that shouldn't stop people from making requests. (hey, some years ago I campaigned on this very forum for Spikee to be played live again, and it worked! )
