Re: Roll call: Festival hall gig. Post here if youre going / need a ticket
i hope we can combine all these reviews in moments forums.

wasn't expecting to find comments here in this thread.

it's too confusing with all the threads requesting tickets.

Let's hope a fair audience (soundboard?) recording will be floating around soon!

Just found a fair sounding YouTube clip of M.E. from tonight.

Found a few more YouTube clips of the gig.

Big Mouth (last few minutes with Karl on the harmonica) ....

Dark & Long (Dark Train) ...

Props to the video takers.

Setlist for the night. NUXX was indeed not on it.

Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
It started with some Underworld songs playing quietly, some Bungalow with stairs, 8 Ball, and then Thing In A Book played much louder, and then Most 'Ospitable, until Rick and Karl took to the stage. They started with the intro to Dark Train instead of Dark and Long, then stopped and corrected themselves.

Minneapolis cut out towards the end, Karl did some miming to try and explain they wouldn't be long. Darren poked around with the equipment for a while. Came back with Dark Train, the projector called it Dark Long. Karl played a harmonica for Bigmouth. They missed a chance to play Spikee for the encore and played Born Slippy/.NUXX instead.

The night ended with us all meeting Rick Smith outside. We only just got a group photo with him, he was whisked away straight after we met with him.

I posted some videos to my vine account, my phone was dieing so I thought that would be better than nothing from me. https://vine.co/u/1047325449400795136

Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
In terms of surprises, Minneapolis was the high point. Never heard it live before and Karl performed a rad guitar jam throughout. Bigmouth was just as much a surprise but was more faithful to the original.

Of the Dubnobass tracks, everyone seemed to agree that Surfboy came alive like never before. Rick seed to be having a lot of fun up there by himself and it sounded fantastic. ME was also a highlight. My only regret is that I was dancing so much that I didn't focus on the intricacies and performance that I know the band chose this venue to highlight. But I guess that's a hazard of being underworld; you can't not dance to it.

Re: 2014-10-11 Royal Festival Hall
A lovely gig, being seated was odd, but I don't like the crush so i kinda liked it. Perhaps I'm getting old.

From up front the boys looked kinda tense for the first few songs, I was kinda worried. Then Rick did Surfboy and then everything got relaxed, smiles and the groove.

Towards the end Rick was nae happy with something on right side of his desk, then boom, everything stopped. I heard afterwards someone from backstage say it was something to do with the dry ice.
