Re: Underworld score the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony
Abolutely amazing news. The combination of U/W and Danny Boyle, having seen Frankenstein, is a match made in heaven

I was interviewed by Andrew Neil once, and he certainly didn't seem the raver type!

Danny Boyle's 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony to be inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest

Re: Underworld score the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony
Interesting! I think it's a good fit for UW as well. Judging by a couple other news sources this is the speech in question:
Quote:
Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again: and then, in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open and show riches
Ready to drop upon me that, when I waked,
I cried to dream again.

New stuff
"Boyle is collaborating with electronic musical duo Underworld, whose 1990s rave classic Born Slippy featured in Trainspotting. They have already mixed two tracks at London's Abbey Road studios. Asked about timings for the ceremony, Boyle said the music will be used to help dictate the pace of athletes parading around the stadium."
