Re: Compilation 2011
As I mentioned earlier, I can get something done for it, just not by a November 18 deadline (obviously as it's the 21st and I haven't submitted a track yet).

For me, these comps are always just about doing something fun - having a no-stress creative outlet. I'd hate to see the comp tradition die just because of strict deadlines. That isn't fun or stress-free at all.

Re: Compilation 2011
No worries about the passing of deadlines. We always disregard the first!
Just would like to have this one out before the end of the year, to keep the streak alive, and we still have over a month of 2011.

Could be way off here, but at least from my point of view, there hasn't been the same enthusiasm as past years. Typically, we have a lot of folks who say "yes, i'm in." Some drop out, no problem. A few late additions help fill the gaps. But as of now, i have contributions from 3 artists, including myself.
Fine tracks, sure, but not necessarily a representation of the many talented producers that lurk around born dirty if we have a compilation with 2 or 3 tracks from 3 or 4 artists.

I'm not looking just for quantity...quality is still key, and it's here. But we also could use some more variety or eclecticism.

Hopefully we can get a few more people to finish up in early to mid December?

Re: Compilation 2011
Ok, just a progress check... right now, I've got the following tracks slotted in the compilation:

Liquid Green: "Lausanne"
Liquid Green: "Islandica"
TFHats: "I Am the Gentle Autumn Rain"
TFHats: "Phosphorstadt"
Mental Health Consumer: "You're Not Going Anywhere"
Mental Health Consumer: "Late Afternoon, Latest November"

As you can see, we can use some additional artists and tracks. I realize with the holidays, time's not getting any less busy, but we would still like to have this out before the end of the year, so if you have any track(s) in the works, please send me a PM.

Many thanks!
Holden

Re: Compilation 2011
Ok, another week without any contact.

Folks, please let me know if you're at all interested in contributing to a compilation. It need not be released this year (in fact, that seems very unlikely given the low level of interest and submissions), but if you're sitting on some almost-complete tracks, please let us know if you'd like to contribute.

Looking through the archives, since 2002, there have been dirty compilations/remixes every year. During and before that, there was a string of UW remixes/mash-ups on this site. I'd like to keep the string alive. But as said, we're just not getting the feedback this year. Should we scratch the tracks? Several producers have been very generous and have spent a lot of time working on tracks and artwork to contribute. We could release what we have, but i know there are many more producers amongst the ranks...
