Autotrader (3)
I wondered what the difference would be between the second and third version, as they both start the same. But give V3 a few seconds and it turns into a slightly jazzy, altogether ambient bit, with some lovely echoey drums that recall Stagger. Amazing!

i don't think so. i think version one was perhaps the original recording of Karl reading the ads, which was used in a few concerts, particularly at the beginning of the Cocoon club gig last October. i'm guessing that the vocal in version 2 has been treated a bit more.

Re: Autotrader (3)
the original 'autotrader' audio , as far as i know, was featured on a Rob da Bank show (i believe), where the DJ asked musicians to come in and read excerpts from their favourite books...
Karl, ever the inspirtaionalist, choose Britain's top car sales magazine, and read out a section from it.... that i presume is autotrader one... its good to see more versions appearing... it could go on for years this as autotrader is republished weekly/monthly?

Re: Autotrader (3)
but wasn't that Rob da Bank show long after the Cocoon gig?
Edit: Yeah, several months after Cocoon http://www.darktrain.org/dirty/forum...ead.php?t=5249 Last edited by TheBang; 09-27-2007 at 02:52 AM. |

my bad... i forgot about the cocoon side of things and the order they occured (i'm old you see) makes it more a UW thing than a special for Rob Da Bank then......
