Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
I have mixed feelings about this. Some parts of it were so well done but the action sequences were hard to follow most of the time. The "hacker" and "Section 7" characters could have been completely eliminated and they were VERY poorly cast.

Michael Bay didn't want to do this because it was a "stupid toy movie." I pray that he won't even be near the next movie.

All in all I give it an 8. There was some great action there to make me forget about the snail-like middle of the movie and some bad decisions in regards to shaking the shit out of the camera during big fights scenes. And kudos to the ILM guys for the kick-ass FX.

More on this after the rest of you lot have seen it.

on a side note, the new JJ Abrams movie they showed a trailer for looks like it'll be a good one. I'd give both my testes (yes, left and right) if he'd do the next Transformers movie.

I don't know how your review warrants an 8. Or was that out of 100?

Seriously, an action movie with action sequences that are hard to follow...? Boo-urns.

Saw it tonight. Fucking loved the graphics and action. Even the humor and campy shit worked for the most part.

(However that annoying human sized robot kinda sucked though)

Almost too much for your brain and eyes to handle in one viewing.

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
I caught the movie again tonight (first time I took my niece and her boyfriend to see it, then i caught it with a bunch of friends). I told everyone to sit in the back of the theater and it made for a better viewing experience.

That Sector 7 aspect threatened to shut down the movie, didn't it?

And did anyone happen to catch where Barricade ran off to? He wasn't present in the final scenes.

The script wasn't horrible...the first 1/3 of the movie was actually the highlight for me. As the reviewer I quoted earlier said, the middle of the movie really dragged and the last part was action-fockin' packed. The problem I had was I wanted some perspective...there were random robots firing and unless it was Bumblebee it wasn't easy to figure out who was who. That was the part of the directing I absolutely hated as it was set on an MTV attention span. No shot for more than 2 seconds before changing picture.

I stand by the 8, though, it was a fun movie and I can't wait for the 2nd one.

Boo-urns indeed adam!

Four ibuprofens, a couple pints of water, dinner, and some drinks, and I still have lingering headache. The same thing happen to me last time I saw a film bearing the words, directed by Michael Bay and that was Bad Boys 2.

Sure it was cool that robots were fighting and this and that, it would've been cool if I could've seen and discerned what the hell was actually happening on screen.

Sure ILM did a nice job on the effects, if only the camera would've been pulled out very wide to really see more! Were there any masters or wide shots shot during the making of the film, or was it a situation that since it was so effect heavy, they stuck with mediums and close ups as it would be more cost effective in the man hours associated with the animation and rendering. Even when there was the few far and between wide shots, it would be cut away to something of little or no use.

Re: Sweet ass teaser poster for Transformers!
You guys are off your fucking trolleys.

The only scene where I had a little trouble keeping track of the action was Bumblebee vs Barricade (The cop car), when they went for a roll around in the dirt in robot form. Other than that, I thought it was fine.

And no adam, Saw was fucking shit. And I can see how you could mistake my taste in all things as garbage, in that you actually like The Fragile. Fuck the Fragile. Engage that, you cunt.

I did lol at that, and so did the whole theater I saw it with.

I was very surprised how much the slapstick comedy stuff worked on me. Bumblebee's radio songs, the Autobots sneaking around the house while Shia went looking for the glasses, and this gem:

"The boy's pheromone levels suggest that he wants to mate with the female."
