Re: why owb is probably the best
I was more disappointed hearing 'The Altogether' after 'The Middle Of Nowhere!'

Re: why owb is probably the best
I'm with Rog, I think this album is fantastic.

I skip 100% of the time: Boy, Boy, Boy and Cuddle Bunny
I skip 50% of the time Good Morning Cockerel

Other than that, this album delivers some great vibes. Replace BBB with either Darc, Bamboo, or a slightly less dancy version of Always Loved a Film/Boots and put that track after Cuddlebunny and we have a winner! Cuddle Bunny BEGS to lead into a track like Bamboo - why even include it on the album if you are going to drop the vibe its leading us towards?

Ring Road is fantastic. I understand how others wont like it, but it actually the third most played track for me on that album according to my iTunes. iTunes NEVER lies!

if you skip all these tracks, there's not much left is there..
how does that make it 'fantastic'?

i've stopped listening to the album completely now,
there's no point to it...since i skip over most of it..

what i do listen to is a custom track listing, mix of the
recent songs/mixes i do like, including all the web only,
etc tracks...

your really should listen to the second part of the interview
posted....like i keep mentioning to everyone else on the board
also...

i'll try to do a transcript of the second part..

they answer pretty much every question about each
album track, why it was on the album, and what the
purpose of it was, and why it ended up being the way
it did...

i don't speculate anymore on why the album is the way it is,
or why they picked certain tracks..

there was a plan, as much as we might not like it,
there was one..

later

Re: why owb is probably the best
In 5-10 years, i'll rate Oblivion with Bells as high as Dubnobass + STITI. All 3 albums are unique but they all form a cohesive unit. I love OWB and couldn't imagine the band releasing a better album at this stage in their career.

there are a few gems left unreleased at this point. what i'd like to see is Underworld do a Live Studio Mix for their next release. Perform the unreleased songs live in the studio with Darren Price, perhaps include Pricey's jams too.

they're clearly capable of doing it and it's something they haven't done yet. could be interesting.

Whats left is: Crocodile, Beautiful Burnout, Holding the Moth, To Heal, Ring Road, Faxed Invitation and Best Mamgu Ever. That right there is pretty awesome.

Well because I skip on ALL Underworld albums.

DUBNO: Surfboy, M.E.
STITI: Blueski, Stagger
BF: Skym, Push Downstairs
AHDO: EssGee, Little Speaker
OWB: BoyBoyBoy, Cuddlebunny

Its still a fantastic album. I only truly dislike one song - Boy Boy Boy - and the other one is just a lead-in track. Basically the good far outweighs the skips on this album.

I actually like some of the songs above that I skip, but I just hardly ever want to hear them. Although EssGee is just the worst. Blech!

haha!

see i thought 'the altogether' was better than 'middle of nowhere'. not a perfect album by any means but an improvement.

Re: why owb is probably the best
'boy boy boy' has taken on a new dimension for me since hearing/seeing the live version on saturday with rick's vocoded vocals... both him and karl wrung some heavy soul vocal on it. i was a bit unsure of the track until that point.
