it's cool that there are some extras to sell - and it's just a fact of life that you can't always get what you want...

i'm just hoping if they have more to sell that I am not in the middle of my r.e.m. state when they go on sale next time...

stage 4 no less!

well, i've set the search to notify me of anything new daily, and i'm checking every other hour or so to see if any new ones are popping up.

goddamnit, i am READY.

and as for this exclusivity to the japanese fans... well, to put it nicely, i dont know what the worth is in that. you guys were there. not only do you get the accompanying cd, but you had the experience. i dont give toss whose feelings are going to get hurt if extra copies are sold to those who couldnt make it at all, because you guys had the best version of everything.

the only objection to this practice of giving us dirts what we would gladly shell out $28+ for would be to retain this super-exclusive dick club to feel special.

rrr..

So tell me - what would you do if you walked into a record shop and saw there were 10 copies of M.E./The Hump for sale at, say, £10 each, for a limited time only? Would you buy one then text your friends who were also collectors and let them know about it? Or would you hold back and post a thread on Dirty with the address of the store, in the knowledge that anyone who was neither friend nor Dirt could walk into that store and buy the lot within the next 5 minutes?

Not logical, your argument, is it?

First we had people moaning that the Tokyo Gig was going to available in Japan only. So UW tried to stream it live and ended up streaming Osaka Live instead. Ahh, but that wasn't good enough, cos some people had missed them.

Then there was the fact that one or two Dirts had managed to get hold of a rip of the Tokyo gig but weren't putting up links to it on the forum, (although if anyone had read between the lines, there may well have been ways of "sharing the Dirty Love" at the time had they bothered to think laterally at the time and talk to people). But that wasnt good enough.

So then there was a WHOLE WEEKEND of the Tokyo gig (and some other rare gigs) being streamed on Dirty Radio. But that wasn't good enough, cos some people missed that.

Now the band are releasing a limited number - we don't know how many - of the cd's through eBay to enable fans to buy them at a fair market price and avoid the ridiculous prices that have been knocking about on eBay. But that's not good enough either.

As one of the oldest members of the forum age-wise, I look to some of you youngsters and think to myself "you are going to be the future of Dirty and the UW fan movement. In years to come people will be looking to you to be running this place, relying on you for guidance in all matters UW."

And then I think how glad I am I will be most likely be dead by the time that happens.

Re: ebay live discs £15!!!
Quickly as I don't have much time...I'm ALWAYS thankful for what we are given. I think my comment was completely misconstrued. I in no way *meant* to imply anything other than this:

I was excited, and cornfused about how to find/ get the discs. Stimps reply was along the lines of: "oh yeah, we knew about these and had already been talking about them on another part of the forum..."

Not feeling the dirty love=empathy towards us who find out about things after the fact...

Was never complaining (nor did I mean to sound that way) Just excited and frustrated and bummed at the same time. Always appreciate and always try to say thank you what we are given/ get. Always try to say thank you SPECIFICALLY to STimp for his hard work getting out the material.

Wow was in response to feeling absolutely crushed and overwhelmed at the invective. etc... sensitive buggers ain't we?

Well, it was in the Collectors Corner thread on this very forum. Its the most popular thread in the Underworld forum, with over 275 replies so I thought most people would be reading it.

erm... only if im actually doing that. On RTSR I am actively getting material out and work quite hard on it. Here at dirty I just pass on information. But with the ebay stuff the CDs were gone in a flash. Then mark3 advertised the fact the CDs had been on ebay before I got a chance to pass on the information.

Keep looking.

Re: ebay live discs £15!!!
Surely its just a bonus having it on hard copy, i've got the files from a lovely person here and im quite happy with that. if it was a new record or something that hadn't been repeatidly broadcast for us to get, then i'd be annoyed!
