No, it wasn't banned… at least not from all of America… maybe really conservative parts of it, but we read and studied it at school. Excellent read. But there's no way I'm watching a Catcher in the Rye adaptation. Too many books are being adapted into movies now (not as bad as REMAKING another movie though)……… complete loss of originality, especially in American cinema.
