Re: Soundtracks
Solaris soundtrack.... I had completely forgot about that one. Magnolia is a movie I loved but I can't recall a single piece of it's score/soundtrack....

Will eventually end up listening to all your recommendations.

Re: Soundtracks
You were talking about Philip Glass... just try his works for The Hours soundtrack.

Hans Zimmer:

The Thin Red Line
Black Hawk Down

Batman Begins (with James Newton Howard, near dark ambient works)

Ennio Morricone:

The Mission
C'era une volta in America

Clint Mansell:

Requiem for a dream
The Fountain (?) I haven't see the film yet

Substrata is a soundtrack ? For which movie ?

Re: Soundtracks
GUMMO!!

I have to listen to more Morricone though, I love everything I've heard by that guy. Also I second the Vangelis soundtrack to Blade Runner and anything by Philip Glass

It's not a movie soundtrack, but Sanblaster didn't specifically asked for that. It's a really great soundtrack though, as in "great to listen to when......" if you know what I mean

Re: Soundtracks
matthew herbert has a new LP out called Scores. it's a collection of music that was rejected from film soundtracks, i believe. either way, it's great, esp. his remake of Singing in The Rain.
